The Algonquin Thunder won thier sixth straight Men's Soccer OCAA Championship as they defeated Seneca 2-1. Matthew Rigby and Ali Albadry scored for Algonquin while Gianfranco Chiechi scored for Seneca. The Players of the Game were Ali Albadry for Algonquin and Adam Orologio from Seneca.

FALCONS SOAR TO OCAA GOLD

The Fanshawe Falcons women's soccer team captured the OCAA gold medal as they defeated Durham 1-0. Alana Cornet scored the winning goal for the Falcons and was named the Player of the Game for Fanshawe. Alyssa Best was named the Player of the Game from Durham.

FANSHAWE FALCONS WINS MEN'S BRONZE

The Fanshawe Falcons captured the OCAA Men's Bronze medal as they defeated Humber 2-0. Ivan Mishv and Steve Hepton were the goal scorers for Fanshawe. Milos Janikic of Fanshawe and Mike Rinzema of Humber won the Player of the Game awards.

HUMBER WINS WOMEN'S BRONZE

The Humber Hawks defeated Sheridan 4-0 to capture the OCAA Women's Bronze Medal. The Hawks goal scorers were Jacqueline Rolfe, Brittany Szcerbakow, Leslie Quigley and Lucia Sinisi. Quigley was named the Player of the Game for the Hawks while Lianna Davies was the Player of the Game for Sheridan.

SENECA STINGS HUMBER

The Seneca Sting defeated Humber 2-1 to advance to the OCAA Gold medal final set for tomorrow against Algonquin. Mahmoud Mirsadedhi scored both goals for the Sting in the win. Endri Begaj scored the lone goal for Humber. The Players of the Game were Andrew DaSilva of Humber while Adam Orologio earned the honour for the Sting.
Seneca will now face the Algonquin Thunder in the OCAA Gold Medal Final set to kickoff at 6pm tomorrow.

ALGONQUIN EARNS CHANCE AT SIXTH STRAIGHT

The Algonquin Thunder defeated the Fanshawe Falcons 1-0 to earn a berth in the OCAA Gold Medal final and a shot at their sixth straight OCAA gold medal. Paul Waigango Kihara scored the goal for the Thunder and was named the Player of the Game for his efforts. Mark Haynes, the Fanshawe goalkeeper was named the Player of the Game for the Falcons.
The Thunder will now face the winner of the Humber/Seneca game for the OCAA gold medal.

The Durham Lords knocked off the defending Champions from Humber 1-0 to advance to the OCAA Women's Gold medal game against Fanshawe. Daniela Calleri scored the winner for Durham. The Players of the Game were goalkeeper Morgan Kelly from the Lords, while Brittany Szcerbakow was awarded from Humber.
Durham will now face Fanshawe in the gold medal game at 3pm tomorrow, while Humber meets Sheridan for the bronze at 9am.

FANSHAWE WOMEN ADVANCE TO FINALS

The Fanshawe Falcons defeated Sheridan 1-0 in the first game of the OCAA Soccer Championships. Nicole Carriere scored the lone goal for Fanshawe in the win. The Players of the Game were Erin Hemming for Fanshawe and Lisa May for Sheridan.

OCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS SET

The brackets are set on both the Men's and Women's side as four more teams cliched spots in Vaughan for the OCAA Championships with wins on Tuesday night. The men's team from Fanshawe joined their women's team as they earned a berth with their 3-2 overtime win over George Brown. The Seneca Sting round out the men's side as they defeated Conestoga 5-1. The Falcons will now take on the Algonquin Thunder, while Seneca will do battle with the Humber Hawks.
In women's action, the Sheridan Bruins knocked off the East Champion Fleming Knights in a shootout to earn a spot at the OCAA Championships. The Durham Lords defeated Conestoga 3-0 to earn the final spot at the OCAA Soccer Championships. The Bruins will meet the Fanshawe Falcons to kick off the action at the OCAA Soccer Championships while Durham takes on Humber.

FOUR TEAMS CLINCH BERTHS AT
THE OCAA SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIPS

With the 2009 OCAA Soccer Championship just days the first four teams have earned themselves a berth at the OCAA Championship with Quater-final wins yesterday. In the Men's side, the Humber Hawks made quick work of the visiting Cambrian Golden Sheild, handing them a 5-0 loss. The Algonquin Thunder rolled past Mohawk 9-1, earning themselves a shot to capture their sixth straight OCAA Gold.
On the Women's side, the defending Champions from Humber needed extra time to escape with a 1-0 win over Algonquin in a rematch of last years gold medal final. The Fanshawe Falcons also extended their season as they knocked off the Seneca Sting 2-0.
The last four games are set for tonight with Fanshawe hosting George Brown and Conestoga traveling to Seneca in Men's action with Sheridan at Fleming and Conestoga at Durham on the Women's side.
OCAA SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIPS SET TO KICK-OFF
The belairdirect OCAA Soccer Championship at the Ontario Soccer Centre from Oct 22-24. The festivities get under way on Thursday night at the Championship banquet where the best of the best from across the OCAA soccer world are honoured. Games get under way on Friday with game times set for 9am, 12pm, 3pm and 6pm. The medal games take place on the 24th with Women's bronze game going at 9am followed by the Men's bronze medal game at 12pm. The Gold Medal games go at 3pm for the Women's and 6pm for the Men's.
